Huawei has launched its Nova 5T smartphone, which offers a quad-lens camera system and powerful performance.
“At Huawei we pride ourselves on offering our customers the latest in innovation, and are committed to rewriting the rules of what’s possible with mobile devices,” said Akhram Mohamed, CTO at Huawei Consumer Business Group South Africa.
The Nova 5T’s quad-camera array includes a 48MP HD lens, 16MP wide-angle lens, 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP lens for creating a bokeh effect.
According to Huawei, this series of lenses allows the device to balance the exposure of the images taken across lighting conditions, which means that photographs are of a higher quality regardless of where or when they are taken.
The front camera of the Nova 5T uses a 32MP lens.
The Nova 5T also includes Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset, which is the world’s first 7nm chipset, and supports LTE Cat.21.
It offers users 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and runs the Android-based EMUI 9.1 operating system – including support for Google services.
Huawei’s Nova 5T comes in two colours – Crush Blue, and Midsummer Purple – and has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The device is available on the following monthly contracts:
- Vodacom – Smart XS+ Plan – R599
- MTN – MFMXS Plan – R599
- Telkom – FreeMe 1GB Plan – R599
- CELL C – Pinnacle 2GB Plan – R619
There is currently no prepaid pricing available for the Huawei Nova 5T.
